The Californian, also known as the California White, is a breed of domestic rabbit developed in the early 1920s by George West in Southern California. He crossed Himalayan breeds and the Standard Chinchilla rabbit breed and then crossed the offspring with New Zealand Whites. The purpose of this breed was to have a good meat and fur breed, but are also raised for show purposes. The Californian rabbit has big ears (although not as large as the ears of Flemish Giants)
and is large in size, weighing around 10 to 12 pounds. This breed's coloration is similar to the Himalayan, with a white body and colored points. Californians received a working ARBA standard in 1939.
Our Californian Bloodlines are from IN, OH, GA, FL, MI & TX
The Holland Lop breed was recognized by the Netherlands' Governing Rabbit Council in 1984 and the American Rabbit Breeders' Association in 1979. Holland Lops with maximum weight of 3.5 pounds (1.6 kg) are the smallest lop eared rabbits. They have a wide, short body, consequently giving them a compact body shape. They pose similarly to a cat, resting mostly on their hind legs and only slightly on their two front ones. Their most famous feature is their large fur-covered ears which fall on either side of their heads. His breed of rabbit is recognized in a variety of colors and groups. They are divided up into two classifications: solid (one color only) and broken (which contain patched of one or two other colors).
Our bloodlines carry the dilute gene so we are blessed to be able to produce Blues and broken blues as well as many colors.
Our Litters leave the rabbitry at 8-10 weeks old and we typically have a wait list so contact us today to reserve.
